John Hummel is the newest
addition of the firm. Mr. Hummel was born and raised in
Florida and spent most of his childhood in Tarpon Springs.
He graduated from Tarpon Springs High School in 1994 before
attending Florida State University. As the son of a Marine
and long time law enforcement officer, Mr. Hummel was
interested in federal law enforcement and the criminal
justice system so he majored in Criminology while attending
FSU. While at FSU, Mr. Hummel was a member of the Alpha
Tau Omega Fraternity and eventually served as a new member
instructor or what is called a “Pledge Trainer.”
Though school and his fraternity were major interests
in his life, he wanted something more; to be part of something
more meaningful. To fill that void, Mr. Hummel followed
in his father’s footsteps and in 1996, joined the
United States Marine Corps. While in boot camp, he quickly
set himself apart for the rest; he was appointed as Guide
of his platoon and later graduating as Honor Man ranking
2nd out of over 200 Marines. Mr. Hummel served in the
Marine Corps Reserves in Tallahassee, while attending
school, until he was discharged in November of 1998.
