By 1979, the firm evolved and
changes with the law resulted in a transformation of that
firm to Earle, Yanchuck, & Thompson. John then was doing
Personal Injury plaintiffs practice with Workers’
Compensation claims included. He remained a partner in that
firm until 1991 when he terminated that relationship and
opened John G. Thompson & Associates, P.A. in May of
that year.
Today, John remains focused on pursuing
Personal Injury claims, Product Liability cases, Workers’
Compensation, and Social Security matters, exclusively representing
the injured party.
Mr. Thompson is admitted to practice before all courts of
the State of Florida and the United States District Court
for the Middle District of Florida. He is a member of the
St. Petersburg Bar Association. Mr. Thompson is also certified
by the Supreme Court of Florida as a Circuit Court Mediation.
John has been a member of the Tarpon Springs Rotary Club
and he served as president for one year. He is a member
of the Board of Directors for the Leepa Ratner Museum at
the St. Petersburg College Campus in Tarpon Springs and
John also serves on the Board of Directors for other private
charitable foundations.
John is married with four children
and sixgrandchildren. His three sons are all attorneys and
his daughter has worked in his law firm since 1992; more
recently retiring to care for her twin daughters. His wife,
Mariette Brunet Thompson and he have dedicated their lives
to developing their private office since opening it on their
own in 1991. They were and remain committed to not being
stereo typed; not being like every other law firm but rather
to serve each and every client with the utmost of professionalism
and giving personal attention to all claims. Doing a good
job for each client and treating all clients like family
makes it likely to have future referrals of new clients.
The practice has done very well for over 13 years and John
continues to dedicate himself to serving his clients as
always, with the care and individuality they deserve.
